How I work
I will always start with understanding your business and how it works. Then I can work alongside you in your office, or remotely in mine, whatever the job requires and what works best for you.
You might need me for only a few ad hoc hours, or for the duration of a project, or on a retainer basis for regular hours each week. If I can accommodate what you need, I will.
I use AI as an efficiency tool but not as a replacement for critical thinking.

Mel gripped a mildy chaotic accounts and admin department here and bought it fully into line with a range of robust and concise processes developed by herself to suit this business.
Within a short timeframe, the accounts department was in better shape than it’s been for years and this allowed us to take a meaningful look at our business finances in a way we’d never done before.

When we worked together we managed vast amounts of data, in which any errors would could cause additional costs of £100k and weeks of delays. We stayed 99.999% error free on part definitions and ordering and hit our agreed (and very challenging) deadlines 100% of the time. This was mostly down to Mel’s meticulous planning and diligence on error checking. Mel’s organisational skills are off the chart and she has incredible recall for details.
Her background in engineering means she pre-empts and tackles supplier issues with knowledge and understanding. We ordered thousands of parts where accuracy of a few microns was critical, and Mel ensured inspection and goods in was handled efficiently and cross referenced against stock keeping (that she also managed). Mel also managed our network of over 200 trusted suppliers around the world, and was always courteous but pressed for the promised parts to the tolerances defined.
And above all, despite taking on enormous responsibilities, Mel has a great sense of humour, and shares a lot of humour with the rest of the office colleagues. I am very grateful to still have Mel as a friend.
